Skiing but not just skiing! Tranquility and magnificent scenery from sunrise to sunset? Here it is possible. From the mountain refuge on the edge of the frozen lake in the Neouvielle Nature Reserve you can directly access the ski runs of Saint Lary, for a ski experience ‘ no limits’. From your bedroom window you can savour the surrounding summits bathed in ever changing sunlight. The evenings will be lively and warm, gathered around the log fire, enjoying the many tales of your host, Jose.

Guarded lakeside refuge

The Aure valley is one of the gateways to the Neouvielle Nature Reserve. Dozens of scintillating lakes, century old pines, jagged peaks almost defying gravity… This landcape is a real paradise and easily accessible. It offers a total escape from the world, the peace and quiet of a virgin landscape with so many places to explore. In winter the refuge is accessible either on skis or for pedestrians by cable-car, the ski runs of Saint Lary are close. In summer there are many varied footpaths for sublime walks through enchanted scenery. During the early morning Isards and marmots can be seen. In winter the sunlight bathes the peaks in a golden glow. It is an exceptional area which cannot be missed.

St Lary, your ski resort

With its 3 interlinked ski areas Saint Lary is one of the major Pyrenean resorts which is both sporty and family friendly. The village of Saint Lary connects to the ski area by cable cars, and offers the warm and traditional welcome of a real Pyrenean village, it is located close to the Spanish border.

For boarders

1 snow park with different areas - the Practice Area where everyone can learn freestyle in a safe and fun setting, the slide area and the different handrails and modules, and the snow park with its tables, hips and big air. Concept Live Park : free filming and automatic editing for all riders. La DeLeRue line : a safe and secure boarder cross, adapted for all levels and sponsored by the DeLeRue brothers (blue run 700m long).

The new 'Bouleaux' chairlift :

This new chairlift takes you to the top of the Soum de Matta with its 360 degree panorama. Three runs start from the top- a blue, a red and a new black run called 'Violette'. All three runs descend through woodlands with over 600 meters of drop.
