Will you be able to explore all of the huge ski area in a week? Whilst your children are in ski school parents can move from one ski area to another. All the family must meet up for a fabulous trip up the Pic du Midi. Once at the top the view is just amazing, to the south hundreds of snowy peaks, to the north a view over the plains as far as the eye can see, some say one can even see the lighthouse at Biarritz! Back at your residence your children can make new friends at the club, parents can enjoy a little relaxation in the sauna, and the hamman...

Residence beneath the towering Pic du Midi:

This tourist residence is located beneath the Pic du Midi and on the Col du Tourmalet road, it offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy holiday. The building is finished in wood and stone, faces south, it comprises 104 apartments. For the further comfort there is a play area with swimming pool, sauna, hammam and fitness room. In summer you can enjoy all the pleasures of the mountains, strolls and picnics on the shores of the lake, a siesta in the shade of a pine tree, lively evening entertainments... In winter you are on the edge of the ski runs of the Grand Tourmalet, the largest ski area in the Pyrenees.

The Grand Tourmalet, your ski resort

Situated beneath the towering Pic du Midi de Bigorre the Grand Tourmalet ski resort has the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees.
On the Bareges side the ambience is of a typical Pyrenean village reigns, on the La Mongie side you will find all the services of a 'foot of the slopes' resort in a high mountain setting. The Pic du Midi forms part of the ski area and has fabulous free ride and off-piste skiing. Grand skiing in a Grand resort!

For learner skiers and boarders

2 secure beginners areas in La Mongie with 13 runs and 11 drag lifts, in Bareges - 5 runs, 3 drag lifts, 1 chairlift, 2 conveyor belt lifts. Located next to the slopes in La Mongie is the creche for children of 12 months to 4 years, snow garden in La Mongie for 3 to 11 years.

For boarders

For snow boarders the brilliant Park des Etoiles snow park has 3 circuits with 2 levels of difficulty : Mini boarder cross with bends and bumps. The blue circuit is adapted so all can enjoy the pleasures of free style. The red run is fast, with high banked bends and big jumps.

The Pic du Midi cable-car, easy access to the highest summits!

Take the Pic du Midi cable car for a spectacular voyage to the summit at 2877 metres, where 600 m2 of viewing terraces await, marvel at the 360 degree panorama over the whole of the Pyrenees, the plains of the south west and even the Massif Central. The Pic du Midi also houses a famous astronomical observatory, a star museum (the highest museum in Europe) which explains the history of this exceptional site and the exploration of the universe.
Practical info : Access by cable car from La Mongie - restaurant at the summit. The Pic du Midi also offers observation evenings with a night spent at the summit. One can also descend skiing, the off piste descent is of 1700 meters!.
