Near Cauterets, in the really beautiful valley of Lutour, the Pont d’Espagne and and its waterfalls are accessible by foot. The location is magnificent, the surrounding natural sites are full of character, blending romanticism with the force of the mountain.

Along the route, you will admire the Lutour or Ceriset waterfalls. Higher up, the Gaube Lake is awaiting you. If the Vignemale (3298 m) is ready to play, you will have the pleasure of seeing its reflection, there, on the lake water. As though the lake is being generous. To get there, you have a choice: signposted paths or mechanical lifts (cable car and chair lift) open from May to October.
This very popular site became part of a vast programme for environmental protection in 1995: paths have been marked and signposted, a visitors’ centre, a 1500 place pay car park and shuttles are available to you.

Parking from Puntas to Pont d’Espagne, shuttle from Cauterets. Cable car from Puntas and chair lift from Gaube to access the Gaube lake.
