Cauterets: from an architecture 1900 to the modernity of the 21st century

At the foot of the pistes, Cauterets is an attractive resort situated at the heart of the Pyrenees National Park in a unique and protected setting, perfect for a family holiday. The village has all the services you need. It is a mixture of modern and traditional pyrenean styles, a clever mix of 1900 spirit and today commodities.

Skiing in Cauterets

Access to the pistes is from the village by seated cable-car, from your seat you can admire the local scenery as you climb. The Lys ski area benefits from an excellent snow record due to its geographical orientation. Adventure skiing, fun skiing, or skiing to discover the local countryside, all is possible and for all levels of skier. With the fast six seater chair lift, sunny terraces for lunch and perfectly maintained pistes you have it all for a great holiday. At the Pont d’Espagne downhill skiing area, look after the children skiing down for first time, while drinking a coffee at a sunny terrace. This area is perfect for beginners and the equipment dedicated to families.
If you are interested by cross-country skiing, the Pont d’Espagne ski area, in the National Park of the Pyrenees, has 6kms (about 4 miles) of ski runs. A strictly protected area, for a cross-country skiing day, in scenery reminiscent of the Rockies.

From Lourdes Pyrenees airport: About 45mns drive.
Take N21 towards Lourdes. In Lourdes, continue towards Argelès-Gazost on D821. Then continue on D921 towards Pierrefitte-Nestalas, there take D920 towards Cauterets.

From Pau airport: About 1h20 drive, about £ 1.5 toll – 2.3€
Motorway A64 towards Lourdes-Tarbes
Exit 11 Soumoulou / Lourdes and continue towards Lourdes
In Lourdes, continue towards Argelès-Gazost on D821. Then continue on D921 towards Pierrefitte-Nestalas, there take D920 towards Cauterets.

From Toulouse airport: About 2h20 drive, about £ 5.6 toll – 7.4€
Motorway A64 towards Tarbes – Lourdes
Exit 12 Lourdes / Tarbes ouest then continue towards Lourdes on N21.
In Lourdes, continue towards Argelès-Gazost on D821. Then continue on D921 towards Pierrefitte-Nestalas, there take D920 towards Cauterets.
