You must try the ski runs on the Ayre

The ski runs through the beautiful forest of the Ayre are just magical, three pistes wind their way down the mountain in a setting from heaven, with the famous Chez Louisette restaurant tempting you inside at the bottom! These legendary runs once were used for the European ski championships.

The Panoramic run:

The largest ski area in the French Pyrenees offers brilliant varied skiing. Try on the fabulous panoramic run, 50 meters wide, it follows the ridge down to the Col du Tourmalet with breathtaking panoramic views over both sides of the Col du Tourmalet, the Pic du Midi, the Neouvielle...

Take lunch at the Etape du Berger restaurant:

Situated literally on the ski slopes above La Mongie at 2146 m, the chalet style restaurant has fabulous views from its sunny terrace. All the produce comes from the patron's farm, we recommend his leg of lamb for a real treat amongst friends. The Etape has a fine reputation for the quality of the food and the lively character of Eric the owner.
