The Grand Tourmalet - the biggest:

The largest ski area in the French Pyrenees offers brilliant varied skiing. The area is on both sides of the famous Col du Tourmalet and beneath the towering Pic du Midi, the scenery is dramatic and ever changing. The new Panoramic run lives up to its name with a breathtaking view over the Pyrenees.

Our favourite ski run in Grand Tourmalet: L'Ayré

The ski runs through the beautiful forest of the Ayre are just magical, three pistes wind their way down the mountain in a setting from heaven, with the famous Chez Louisette restaurant tempting you inside at the bottom! These legendary runs once were used for the European ski championships.

Gavarnie, fine skiing at a World heritage site:

The Cirque de Gavarnie is the most famous natural arena in France. The majestic cirque is a World Heritage site. In winter its waterfalls freeze into dramatic ice formations, whilst its many towering peaks bring an extra dimension. The Cirque can be seen from the village and also from the ski resort. The Pic des Tentes chairlift offers a sensational panoramic view.

Take the green way at Gavarnie:

The longest green run in the Pyrenees is at Gavarnie, it traverse the whole ski area, starting from the ridge it has fantastic views from top to bottom.

Our favourite ski run, the ridge run in Cauterets

This blue run offers a fabulous panorama, there is a clear view over some of the most famous mountains in the Pyrenees : the Vignemale, the Neouvielle, the Pic du Midi. One can even see out of the mountains to the plains around Tarbes. It is accessed by two chairlifts (5 and 6 places). the edge of this piste are everyone's favourite picnic spot!

Find the Yeti at Cauterets:

On the ski runs, in the mountain restaurants, in the village, you can find him almost everywhere, the kids will love it, parents too just love having their photo taken with this local celebrity. On the ski runs the Yeti patrol will help and guide you.
