Tonight let the stars provide the entertainment. As the sun slips behind the horizon the show begins as the first stars appear from your viewpoint at the Pic du Midi at nearly 3000 meters of altitude.
During the interval the chef proposes any number of delicacies 'Made in the Pyrenees', then it is back to the stars with the Milky Way for dessert!

A voyage back in time

During your visit to the Space Museum be sure not to miss the flim which recounts the story of the brave pioneers who constructed the Pic du Midi and the very first astronomers. Unique footage, witness accounts and passion...

The supreme distinction for the Pic du Midi

The Pic du Midi has been awarded the status of the 'Premier International Star Reserve in Europe'. Only six have been awarded this in the world and it is the first in continental Europe. This status permits the preservation of skies unpolluted by light around the Pic du Midi, and more generally affects the whole of the natural areas of the Hautes Pyrenees.

Closer to the stars under the cupola!

At the centre of a cupola, which opens and closes, is a telescope which projects its image onto large screens so everyone can observe the sky under live conditions. Enjoy the experience of a real astronomer as you study the constellations, you will really feel your place in the universe. Both during the day and at night one can see the mountains and the craters on the moon. You could never imagine there are quite so many stars!
